October Wedding

My cousin Sarah and I have started doing floral design for weddings. This past weekend was Samantha and Daniel's big day at the beautiful Thomas Center in Gainesville. Sam was a wonderful bride to work with, she had great taste and we had so much taking her ideas and designing the floral look for her wedding. As you will be able to see she wanted a classy yet vintage look, bringing in golds and warm tones with a pop of fall colors. We ended up using almost ten different flowers! So much fun.

Our desire is to work with brides and help them achieve a designer look at a reasonable price. Sarah and I are excited about our new little business...more about that later.

Oh, Happy Day!

October, 21st 2009! 11 months and one week after our precious James was placed in our home we joyfully went to court for the final hearing on his adoption! What a wonderful sight as Judge Davis signed the final documents! My mind and heart are full of so much I want to share. I am overwhelmed at all the Lord has done this past year.

"We will praise You, O, Lord, with all of our hearts; we will tell of all Your marvelous works, we will be glad and rejoice in You; we will sing praise to Your name, O, Most High!" Psalm 9:1-2

James, our son, the Lord has done a great work in your sweet little life. He has done an even greater work in the lives of your parents. Through your adoption He has taught us greatly about our own personal adoption into His family, immersed us in His mercy and humbled us deeply. We can say with confidence God has great things in store for your life. May you grow to love the cross, may you come to understand and accept His love for you through the gospel at a young age and follow Christ all the days of your life. James, we are so thankful God has given you to us, we now give you back to Him. -Mommy and Daddy

Sweet family! Thank you to all who were able to come!

Proud grandparents!

Proud great-grandparents!

Not the delivery room, but just as sweet :-)

Thank you all for the countless hours you have spent praying over our son and this entire process. We can't wait to tell James one day of all those who loved and prayed for him right from the start.

Sampson

In my update I forgot to add....we have a new "son." Sampson joined our family today! We have been wanting a large dog for our new backyard. He is not large yet, but it won't be long! He is a German Shepherd/Akita mix and will probably be about 80-90 pounds full grown! We had just fed him tonight when Chad took this picture. We will have to help him eat for a while, he is only about 4 weeks old!

Sampson, welcome to the Rollins family!

I am officially outnumbered....Chad, James, Wynston and now Sampson...I must be crazy :-)

Finally, an update!

I have been meaning to update the blog for days now but just can't seem to get my act together. Alot has happened in the last month! We are moved into our new home and getting settled. Poor Chad has something I want him to hang all the time but he is a good sport. We finally have all the boxes out of the house and are just working through a few in the garage....moving is no fun! We really love the house, it fits us well. James especially loves his new play room and fun yard! It is so nice being so close to Chad's office, he is able to join us for lunch most days and is home at 5 o' clock most nights! I like Lake City more than I thought I would, there is a great Publix( very important) some nice resturants and yet it is quaint and not to busy. We are visiting churches and praying about were to join. One of the greatest blessings has been our next door neighbors, Ricky and Rachael. We have become friends very qucikly and really enjoy their fellowship, that has definityley made the transition easier!

PS....the house used to be pink! SO thankful Chad got us a great bid to have it repainted before we moved in!

Right after we moved into our house we had our first "Brannen Girls Weekend" in Savannah, Georgia. We had a wonderful time! What a sweet time of fellowship it was for our family! Shopping, eating out and fun girls time!

And the most excititng update of all! We go to court this Wednesday, October 21st to finalize James' adoption! Praise you, Father! We are so grateful to finally be at this place and are humbled by the Lord's kindness in how smooth the process has been. In right under one year, our precious son was placed in our home and his adoption was finalized! Now we can start on number two....

These recent photo's are of our little cowboy! James is quite the ham these days...he is having some challenging toddler moments and has been sick all weekend with a high fever but he continues to make us laugh with his funny little personality. He loves his pumpkin pajamas(thanks Melissa!) his boots, and his cowboy hat. Before bed the other night, Tia (Sarah) was over so we let him wear all three and he was so excited!
